In this video, we are going to look at E1 reactions introduction. We will look at E1 reaction rate, how it is called a unimolecular elimination. Then, we will look at the E1 rate equation, which will explain why E1 is unimolecular. After that, we will look at the conditions that will promote E1 reaction: E1 substrate, E1 base preference, E1 solvent preference and E1 temperature preference. We will also look at the E1 stereochemistry using the E1 mechanism. From the E1 mechanism, we will also use Zaitsev rule to identify the major product formed from the elimination reaction. 🕑 Here's when you'll find: 0:00 E1 reactions introduction 0:30 E1 rate equation 0:45 E1 substrate 1:04 E1 base preference 1:14 E1 solvent preference 1:33 E1 temperature preference 1:44 E1 stereochemistry 1:54 E1 mechanism 2:12 E1 rate limiting step 3:26 E1 reaction summary 3:34 Major product using Zaitsev rule Related videos: ► SN1 reaction: • SN1 reactions introduction | unimolecular ... ► SN2 reaction: • SN2 reactions introduction | bimolecular n... ► E1 reaction: • E1 reactions introduction | unimolecular e... ► E2 reaction: • E2 reactions introduction | bimolecular el... ► SN1, SN2, E1, E2 reactions made easy: • SN1, SN2, E1 & E2 made easy | Which mechan... ► Tetrahedral 101: • Tetrahedral 101: How to draw tetrahedral s... ► Draw organic compounds in 3D: • How to draw organic compounds in 3D | Etha... ► Common mistakes when drawing organic compounds: • Organic compound errors | Common errors in...
