I would’ve liked to have a somewhat cleaner attempt on this fight but I didn’t expect him to die so quickly lol. Also this boss got a minor buff a few days after I beat him, making his spike attacks more deadly so it would’ve been cool to fight him in his current state. As for the fight itself there’s surprisingly not much to Gurr’s moveset. Most of it is a big but fun positioning test, especially when he goes wild with the spikes in P2. I found it interesting that the spikes don’t seem to have a hitbox as they are being released into the air either. Another cool thing is these spikes leading up to the fight sort of get you familiar with the range they can expand which helps a bit. There are very generous punish windows to attack him as he always pops up long enough to hit him multiple times if you stand right under him. I’d say what got me hit the most was his ascension from the ground in an arc because I would constantly underestimate the size of his hitbox and the range. The charge attack also got me a few times because of the hitbox but every attack is clearly telegraphed the whole fight! Gutt may have a super crazy moveset and it’s a bit on the simpler side but honestly I enjoyed this fight so I’m putting him into B tier!
