Defence relationship between Australia and Papua New Guinea is 'very positive'

Defence strategist Michael Shoebridge says the defence relationship between Australia and Papua New Guinea is looking “very positive”. “The idea that Papua New Guinean Defence Force personnel can serve some time in the Australian Defence Force is an excellent one,” Mr Shoebridge told Saturday Herald Sun columnist Steve Price. “It will increase their skills and make our militaries able to cooperate better and of course, it’s an answer to training offers from the Chinese.”
