Let your health shine with TCM Time! Learn Tai Chi with Kathy Yang to improve your breathing. In this class, Kathy reviews reverse abdominal breathing (RAB). She talks about our natural use of this type of breathing whenever we have either an intention or an emotion. In RAB, our abdomen draws in as we inhale and expands as we exhale, such as, when we are scared or when we laugh. Kathy guides you through the four gates breathing practice. She locates the two gates on the palms of the hands at the point Lao Gong PC-8 (勞宮 Palace of Toil or Palace of Labor) and also the two gates on the soles of the feet at the point Yong Quan KI-1 (涌泉 Bubbling Well or Gushing Spring). She emphasizes the importance of focusing the mind at least 6 inches beyond these four gates for better rooting and better manifestation of Qi in Tai Chi. Kathy introduces the "oral secret teaching" of the Hui Yin CV-1 (會陰 Yin Meeting), or perineum, as part of RAB in Qigong practice. In preparation for the next class, she also introduces you to the Four Six Stance and Climbing Mountain Stance used in rocking, e.g. Peng Lu Ji An. She also touches on Tai Chi Ball rotation and reviews Tai Chi Ball vertical circling and horizontal circling, spiraling, and the "S" curve to change directions. --- Discover Traditional Chinese Medicine with Kathy Yang in her online courses, workshops, private lessons and consultations in Medical Qigong and Tai Chi HERE: https://tcmtime.com/ If you enjoyed this video, remember to like, share and subscribe to TCM Time Channel for more videos HERE:    / tcmtime   For the latest news and announcements, subscribe to TCM Time newsletter HERE: https://tcmtime.com/subscribe/ Like "TCM Time" on Facebook HERE:   / tcm-time-112420353662445   Follow "TCM Time" on Instagram HERE:   / tcmtime   For more info on YMAA Boston classes: https://www.ymaaboston.com/
