Hey, guys. It's Jake here with Etrailer. Today we have a 2020 Kia Telluride, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the CURT seven-pole wiring harness. Adding the seven-pole wiring harness to the back of your Telluride is gonna allow you to pull trailers, not only just standard trailers, but also trailers with brakes. That is the point of a seven-pole. In addition to your four normal functions, which are gonna be strictly based off your taillights, your stop, your left and right turn and your running light signal, you're going to get your auxiliary battery signal, which is a charge line, essentially, from your vehicle to your trailer battery. You're going to get the braking signal, which is going to control the brakes on the trailer, if you're pulling a trailer with brakes, and then the last one, which is the seventh pole, you're going to get a reverse lockout, which is essentially used for, mainly, boat trailers to unlock the hydraulic actuators so that you can back up with your boat. Now, there's not a whole lot more to explain when it comes to seven-pole wiring other than what we just talked about, but what makes this different from a lot of other kits out there is that it is going to have both a inline fuse and a converter box that is going to help to protect the wiring on your vehicle and on your trailer. It helps to prevent any back feed between the two of them so that your wiring and lights on either one are not affected by the other. This installation is very, very easy. You can do it yourself at home, and you'll have your seven-pole installed in no time. Now that we've gone over those details, let's go ahead and see how it installs. To begin our installation, we're gonna take a flathead screwdriver, and we're gonna have to pop these tabs loose. You'll pop the center out and pull the base out. We're gonna have a variety of them along this panel. Just take off however many is holding these on, and we're gonna have some hex-designed keepers up here. We'll have to find the appropriate socket to twist those loose. So we'll loosen. You wanna pull down while you're loosening these two plastic nuts, and this panel should drop right down. You can take our harness. It'll come up to the factory harness. This is just a plug on the end to keep the terminals clean, and throw that away, and we'll take our new harness and clip it in in its place. Make sure that clicks, and now we can put our fuse in. We need to get our box mounted up, just take a self tapper. Tap this right into the side of this pinch weld. That'll be all safe and secured up in this cubby. We can put our fuse in. Now, in order to get our seven-pole mounted up, we got ourselves one of these seven-pole brackets. We've got plenty of them on our website, a no drill bracket, and we just bent a 90-degree angle. Typically, these will just come straight. We just bent a 90-degree angle. We've got our CURT hitch up here. This will clamp right on to the backside of our CURT hitch using this hose clamp, and then you can see our seven-pole will be right here next to the hitch when they need to use it. (drill rattling) Now, when you're running your wiring, there's a little opening in the top of the panel that we removed that you can run the wiring out without having to cut anything. You can also run it around this side just so we don't have to make any modifications, but we ran it across the top of our hitch tube, zip-tied it a couple of different times, and then down and installed our seven-pole on our bracket. To test out our wiring, we're gonna go through our basic functions to make sure everything's working properly. We'll start with our running lights, our brake lights, our left turn, our right turn, and you can see that our auxiliary battery is working.
