Flying fox orphans waiting for release

Flying fox orphans waiting for release

Juvenile black and grey-headed flying foxes ready for release. Tonight the cage will be opened and they can start exploring the nearby area and adjacent flying fox colony. They will be able to come and go as they please for support feeding until they integrate fully in with the wild bats and learn to find their own food. _______ These animals are not pets, but protected wildlife in care under a rehabilitation permit. They are prepared for return to the wild and released when ready. http://batrescue.org.au
