37667 & 37521 Thrash Bamfurlong - 11th May 2021

British Railways Green Class 37s no's 37667 & 37521 (as D6851 & D6817) head south along the WCML through Bamfurlong on the evening of Tuesday 11th May 2021. The pair were taking the LSL Chairman's private train back to Crewe after a long weekend away in the far north of Scotland. The two English Electric Type 3s were looking resplendent as usual in their original British Railways Green livery and were still sporting the small "Orcadian" headboard today, I wonder if it made it across the sea... The pair were in fine form today and were running nearly an hour and a half early, coming through just as a small hailstorm moved across. That actually caused some problems, I couldn't hold the camera with both hands as I needed to protect the lens with one but managed to avoid getting the shakes. The other issue was the band of clear sky in the background, I'd filmed a freight train a couple of minutes earlier and zooming back out too quick overwhelmed the camera so I had to be careful with this one and fortunately it came out ok. A special thanks to the traincrew for the well timed burst of thrash, made today's expedition worth it :) The official working was; 5Z40 Corbridge to Crewe Holding Sidings Thanks for watching and subscribe to see more rail videos coming soon.
