How to Section Hike North Japan's Michinoku Coastal Trail
The new Trail & Train website offers a lot of useful information about the trail as well as a luggage delivery plan, local guide services, and more: https://en.sanriku-trail.com/ Unfortunately, the official government site (https://tohoku.env.go.jp/mct/english/) recently pulled all the free PDF maps they were offering for download. Now you have to pay for them, unfortunately. Still, it is better to get paper maps for the section that you're interested in hiking, so worth ordering in advance. You can order maps here: https://m-tc.org/en/explore/map/ There's also a great free informational site/community by a half British, half Japanese man named Robin.
