Panic in Donetsk as shelling continues, at least one killed, buildings damaged

(28 Aug 2014) At least one person was killed on Thursday afternoon when several shells fell in a market area of central Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. His body was wrapped in plastic and taken away shortly after as people took shelter from further shells fired into the largest Ukrainian city held by pro-Russia rebels. Several apartment buildings and cars were damaged by the shelling. "There was an explosion and another one.Three, I think," said resident Maria Romanovna. "The house was shaking and we were there, our home was on the third floor," she added. Thursday's attack came a day after shelling killed 11 people and set fire to a school on Wednesday, according to city officials.
