1967 BUICK SKYLARK HARDTOP COUPE - ALL BUICKS SELL BETTER

The Buick lineup for '67, with all models getting a new style, start with the Special, the Skylark, LeSabre, Wildcat, Electra 225 and the Riviera. The midsize Skylark came in a large variety of bodies : Coupes, hardtop coupes and sedan, four door wagons, convertible coupe and a four door sedan. However, now introduced for the first time is the Skylark muscle machine, the GS 340 hardtop coupe, and GS 400 coupes, hardtop coupes and convertible coupes. Buick entered the ponycar race. This splendid Skylark example here is one of 41,084 with a base price of $ 2,796 and riding on a 115 inch wheelbase - the same as the Special. The engines for the Skylark consisted of a V6 with 225 cubes and 160 horses, or V8's with 300 cubes and 210 horses and a 340 cube with 220 - 260 horses. Except for the Riviera, all Buicks had a familiar beaked grille, and with the exception of the clean Electra 225 had stainless " has " marks behind the front wheel well. Sleek bodies with hardly any side trim but with an optional fender skirt like this one shown must have promoted Buick from 7th to 5th place in production. Thanks for viewing.
