Women watching STORYLINE: Israel bulldozers moved into Arab East Jerusalem on Tuesday, demolishing four Palestinian houses while residents looked on helplessly. Backed by Israeli police and army troops, the bulldozers began tearing down the buildings in the neighbourhood of Shoafat. The Jerusalem Municipality claims they were built without permits. One of the buildings was unoccupied, but two others housed Palestinian families. Many of them watched in tears as their homes were destroyed. Since the beginning of the year, the city has demolished 30 Palestinian premises it says were illegally built.
