PLA Air Force conducts parachuting drills off Y-20

China's People's Liberation Army #AirForce held military drills on Y-20 planes in Central China’s Hubei Province in recent days. Dubbed Kunpeng, a colossal bird of ancient Chinese legends that could fly thousands of kilometers, the Y-20 is China’s largest home-grown military transport aircraft. Y-20 heavy transport aircrafts have contributed to multiple missions including parachuting medical personnel and supplies to the COVID-hit Wuhan in early 2020 and the COVID-plagued Shanghai amid the latest COVID-19 flare-up, carrying the remains of 117 Chinese People’s Volunteers soldiers killed in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953) back to China in 2020 and other humanitarian relief tasks. It is said that the air force will build on its comprehensive combat capability by conducting group skydiving from large planes and relief airdrop, among other training projects. #military
