Today on the 36th episode of our University Series, we ask whether our focus in terms of education is simply to win the numbers game alone and not of having universities that impart quality education. Students of Manipur University have been protesting to have vice chancellor AP Pandey removed over allegations of attempt to gain absolute 'dictatorial' control over the university, dereliction of duty and also attempts to 'saffronise' the university. Teachers Union has also joined the protest and five deans have reportedly resigned from their posts.
