Love Your Neighbors as God Loves Them - The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (October 25, 2020) 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time Subscribe to / jescomtv Today is the Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time. In today’s Gospel, Jesus addresses another tricky question from the one of the Pharisees: “Teacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?” Now we must remember that the Pharisees followed an extensive and meticulous interpretation of the law: the Decalogue was translated into over six hundred rules! And they often debated on which one ranked first. But Jesus, seeing through again their malice, responds by quoting Deuteronomy and Leviticus: all the commandments and the prophets may be summed up in loving God and in loving one’s neighbor. These are the core of the commandments. Love of God is expressed and authenticated in love of neighbor as seen in Jesus himself. #TheWordExposed #CardinalTagle #30thSundayofOrdinaryTime ______________ The Word Exposed with Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples reflects on Sunday's Mass readings each week.
