Fleeing Suspect Takes Flight (12/17/96)

Sylmar, California December 17, 1996 This chase began when police clocked a blue Chevrolet doing 100+ MPH; the suspect was also believed to have been involved in a armed robbery earlier in the day. During the chase - for whatever reason - the suspect veers off the highway and flies through the air before crashing into a set of trees and landing on the street below. Amazingly, the suspect not only survives the wreck, but he actually crawls out of the wreckage and flees on foot. However, his luck would ultimately run out as he was found hiding in a trailer and apprehended just minutes later.
