Rod Phillips, Ontario’s minister of long-term care, announces that the province will spend $20 million to hire 193 additional long-term care inspectors and to launch a yearly proactive inspections plan for long-term care facilities. This will double the number of inspectors by fall 2022 with one inspector for every two facilities. The new inspectors will be certified to investigate and issue provincial charges.
