Wide of burning banner and protesters on street STORYLINE: Hundreds of university students protested in the Kenya's capital on Tuesday over the deaths of a student and two activists who were researching extrajudicial killings when they were shot last week. Many of the students marching through Nairobi Tuesday were waving banners demanding justice for their colleague. The student was shot by police during riots that followed the assassination of the activists in front of the university. On Tuesday students were chanting slogans demanding that the police commissioner resign. Hussein Ali has been accused by the United Nations and the slain activists of running death squads. "We want the police, especially the police commissioner to tell us what is really happening because they are telling us they have arrested three police men concerning the shooting of the student," explained Nairobi University student, Eric Mwembesa, as the demonstration took place. One group of youths looted a shop on Tuesday, taking sodas and bread. As they ran away they threw the empty bottles at other shops, breaking their windows. In a sign that grievances from different groups might be converging, other students wore black T-shirts with political slogans demanding legislators pay taxes on their fat salaries or the resignation of parliament.
