Today's lockdown recipe is a tasty, healthy bowl of goodness. As an added bonus it is sure to satisfy your bhel cravings during the lockdown. Made with thin/patla poha (beaten rice flakes) not kurmura/murmura and needing no chutneys, this bhel is a breeze to toss up. A healthy wholesome snack, with veggies, nuts and cereals, it works great as a breakfast dish or as an evening snack. From kids to grownups, this bhel is sure to a be a roaring hit for your entire family. Written recipe: Ingredients: 1small onion chopped 1 small tomato chopped Chopped green chillies (optional) Chopped coriander 2 tbsp peanuts 2 tbsp roasted chana dal (chutney dal) 1 tsp lemon juice 1 tbsp oil for tempering (tadka) 1/4 tsp turmeric/haldi 1/4 tsp red chilli powder 1/2 coriander/dhania powder Salt and sugar to taste 1 bowl thin/patla poha Sev or farsan as per taste 1 tbsp grated carrots (optional) 1 tbsp cooked chopped beetroot (optional) Method: Chop onion, tomato, chillies and coriander. Grate carrots, chop cooked beetroot and set aside Heat oil for tadka, when hot add peanuts and roasted chana dal. Add haldi and red chilli powder. Once the peanuts are roasted add coriander powder and set aside. In a bowl take the chopped veggies, add salt sugar, lemon juice, fried peanut mixture and mix well. Now add the thin poha. Add sev or farsan, mix and keep aside. Garnish with some more sev or farsan before serving, you can also add plain cornflakes if you like. Tastes amazing with a cup of tea or coffee or juice.
