Albanese's call for increased ABC funding is 'sickening'

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese’s decision to argue in parliament for an increase in ABC funding is “disgusting and sickening” as the numbers of unemployed Australians continue to rise, according to Sky News host Chris Kenny. Due to the extensive economic impact of coronavirus, many media organisations such as Channel Seven, News Corp, and Network Ten have lost their main source of revenue, advertising, and as such have been forced to cut jobs or cut pay. “My heart really bleeds for people” with small businesses who have put in “hours of work and love that is disappearing before their eyes,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray. Mr Kenny said while “this is really life-changing, life-threatening stuff” for small business, “it’s just roses for the ABC”. “The ABC employees are all on good salaries, have permanent jobs and never have to worry about a recession or a downturn,” he said.
