Staging of locally advanced prostate cancer - the need to retain bone and CT scans

Presented at BMUC 2022. https://bmuc.be/ 9th Belgian Multidisciplinary Meeting on Urological Cancers. Learning objectives: To place bone and CT scans at the centre of patient care in men with suspected/known metastatic HSPC, while acknowledging their limitations Therefore, to frame next-generation imaging (multiparametric WB-MRI and PET/CT) as a problem solver after BS/CT scan assessments; because NGI can cloud management decisions Focus on the prognostic role of BS/CT scans, their predictive role for directing pelvic radiotherapy and for oncologic drug development To acknowledge that higher-quality evidence on management &/or outcomes is needed if there is to be substitution of BS/CT by NGI
