Final Fantasy III: Ep. 8.3 Love letters tied to pigeons lead them to Maranda & Zozo.. is Cyan alive?

After Setzer and the gang have dusted off the wings of The Falcon and taken to the skies once again, Celes instinctively tells Setzer to "follow that bird" after it flies past her in the air. Following it's path, the team is lead to the town of Maranda, where things seem to be normal, until they find a house swarmed with carrier pigeons. Inside the home, they find a young woman who's the recipient of both bouquets of flowers and letters of affection. However when they ask her about the letters, she assumes they are from her boyfriend in Mobliz, but they are already aware of the villages demise. But after further inspection of the letter, they notice something vaguely familiar about the handwriting and ask her if they may send her next letter out for her. When they get the parcel to the bird, they follow it all the way to the dreary town of Zozo. Could Cyan actually be here somewhere, or is he somewhere in the area???
