FORMATION FLYING RUDDER INPUT F-16 DCS

The purpose of this video is to share what I've learned so far about close formation flying, crucial for aerobatics. Here I show how rudder input is important to maintain our lateral position. Keep in mind, your aircraft will be sucked into the lead aircraft due to the low pressure wake so exterior foot pressure is needed. When we apply rudder, because of the asymmetrical vertical tail around the center axis of rotation of the air-frame, there's an induced roll to the opposite side and therefore we have to compensate it with stick lateral pressure. So, "exterior pedal pressure == exterior roll compensation" to keep wings leveled to our new referential, the lead aircraft and not the horizon. Do not use bank or roll to control the lateral position of the aircraft in close formation flying, that can cause extreme trouble for you and for the other wings. Try practice this also whilst in air-refueling, same principle. Hope you enjoy this one, let me know if you want more of this, Fly safe and enjoy the ride! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Skins used: from Razor97 https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.co...
