The rear sonar system is a parking aide that sounds a tone that helps the driver detect obstacles near the rear bumper. The system automatically turns on when the shift lever is placed in Reverse and the ignition switch is ON. When the object is detected, the indicator appears, begins flashing and the tone sounds intermittently. As the object gets closer, the rate of the flashing will increase. When an object is very close to the vehicle, the indicator turns solid and the tone will sound continuously. The system may not detect objects at speeds above 6 miles per hour. To enable or disable the system: ● Press the right or left arrow button until SETTINGS displays in the vehicle information display, ● Press the up or down arrow button to select DRIVER ASSISTANCE and press the OK button. ● Select PARKING AIDS and press the OK button. ● Select SONAR and press the OK button. ● Select REAR and press the OK button to toggle the system ON or OFF. ● Select RANGE to change the systems distance to FAR, MID or NEAR. The rear sonar system sensors are located on the rear bumper. Be sure to keep them clean and free from snow, ice and dirt. Please see your Owner’s Manual for important safety information, system limitations, and additional operating and feature information."
