Monday's extended Cleveland weather forecast: Arctic air, snow chances this week in Northeast Ohio

Cleveland weather forecast for Monday, January 15, 2024. The cold weather is here to stay for much of the week as a large chunk of polar air remains parked over the Great Lakes and Midwest. For us, we'll have some sunshine for our MLK Day with increasing clouds as our next system approaches from the west. Highs today will struggle to get out of the mid 10s, but combined with the wind, we'll have windchill values in the -15 to -5 degree range for much of the day. As a result, we have a Wind Chill Advisory in effect through midday. Tonight we get a round of some snow showers as a system gets going to our south. Lows will settle into the single digits once again. Tuesday won't see much recovery in terms of temps. Morning snow will give way to sunshine with highs in the low to mid 10s again. All eyes then turn toward what could be a sneaky system later this week. An area of low pressure will move in from the west on Thursday, bringing an area of light snow through northern Ohio. A secondary low will get going to our east, bringing a reinforcing shot of cold air south across the lakes. The result could be a continuous snow, including some lake effect Thursday night into Friday -- perhaps lingering into Saturday. Several inches of accumulation are possible for all of northern Ohio with higher amounts in the snowbelt as of now. It's still a bit too early to lock this in, but stay tuned to the forecast this week as a decent snow is possible Thursday-Saturday. We'll keep tabs on it. Here is your 3-day Cleveland weather forecast. Today (MLK Day): Sunshine with increasing clouds. Cold with highs in the mid to upper 10s. Tuesday: Early snow showers then clearing skies. Mid 10s. Wednesday: Mainly sunny with late day clouds. Low to mid 20s. READ MORE: https://www.wkyc.com/article/weather/...
