Hurricane Warnings are in effect for the coast of Louisiana ahead of Marco, which could make landfall as a hurricane on Monday. Tropical Storm Laura has watches extending further west across Cuba, and could impact the United States as a significant hurricane early next week, although the forecast intensity at that time is of lower confidence than usual due to potential land interaction with Cuba. In the Western Pacific Basin, Typhoon Bavi is strengthening over the East China Sea, and is expected to impact the Korean peninsula this week as a major typhoon. Gale warnings are starting to come into effect off the shores of South Korea, with warnings likely to extend tomorrow.
