Just A Shave: Gillette Tech Flat-btm - Personna Israeli Red - Eleven Barbershop - Maseto Silvertip
Great lather. Trying one of my favorite vintage Gillettes with the Israeli Red. And a soap that HD Shaves was generous enough to send me. What a winner (the soap... and the guy)! Razor: Gillette - Tech Flat-bottom (UK) Thin Bar Handle Blade: Personna - Israeli Red (5) Lather: Eleven - Barbershop Brush: Maseto - Memphis Silvertip 24mm (15 uses) Post: Lucky Tiger - Tonic Razor and Blade Notes - Gillette - Tech Flat-bottom (UK) Thin Bar Handle ::: Personna - Israeli Red (5 uses): This is a great razor with so many blades. May be in my top 4 razors of all time. I know it controlled this blade well and made it feel stronger and more solid. I don't remember if I ended up with any irritation after though. The vid will have to tell us that. Soap Notes - Eleven - Barbershop: Them: Bergamot, Rosemary, Oak Moss, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Powdery Musk. A classic barbershop scent balanced perfectly between fruity and powdery. Scent: I shaved with this sample blindly, regarding the scent notes. I put it on the Barbershop scale between more neutral, but enjoyable, BS scents, and the more leathery and spicy BS from Stirling. It's not as "heavy" (regarding rich and manly scent notes) as Stirling, but also not feminine at all. It maybe has some more gentle green and herby notes that show up more in the accord. It's a well-blended scent that I wouldn't be unhappy with if I were to be stranded on a desert island with it as my only suds. Nice transition from this scent to the Lucky Tiger Tonic. Scent Strength: 3-4/10, lightly present during shaving. Lather: This is a top-notch soap base folks. At least in my eyes. The slickness is as good as any, and I still got creaminess during the rinses that made the whole experience feel luxurious. It had sheen, and was elastic and beautiful. I'm afraid this is going to be another soap base that many folks miss out on, but it's excellent. It looked great during the first pass, but I still needed to add water to it. Which is fine, as I get used to it, and it turned into shaving gold. Hydration: Perfect (for me) 0.3 tsp soap with a Lightly-Wet brush 6 tsp added to make lather = 6 passes of lather Bowl: Roger Quintero 3D Printed Bowl I use the XL version of this bowl. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:339... Brush Notes - Maseto - Memphis Silvertip 24mm (15 uses): It started out a bit odd, but that was because the lather needed a good bit more water. As I added more, it started to feel like its normal soft, flowing self.
