American Airlines canceled hundreds of flights across the U.S. Monday, including 143 at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina. American Airlines said the flights were canceled due to staffing difficulties related to bad weather at its Dallas, Texas, hub over the weekend. Thousands of flights were canceled by American Airlines over the weekend due to flight crews being unable to reach connecting destinations within the network. As of 11:45 p.m. Monday, American had canceled 149 flights in Charlotte, according to Flight Aware. Nationwide, the number was nearly 500 after a weekend that saw more than 2,300 flights delayed or canceled. American Airlines blamed weather and staffing issues for the flight cancellations nationwide. American said the delays and canceled flights weren't caused by the company's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. About two-thirds of Sunday's cancellations were due to a lack of flight attendants in the right places. The others were almost exclusively due to a shortage of pilots, according to internal American Airlines numbers obtained by the Associated Press. #WakeUpCLT #AmericanAirlines READ MORE: https://www.wcnc.com/article/travel/a...
