A Perfect Little Soft Pastel Set for Bright and Cheery Paintings - Happy Sheep

This is a Perfect Little Soft Pastel Set for Bright and Cheery Paintings! Join me in this lesson where I paint some lovely sheep in the sunshine using the Unison pastel set by artist, Lucy Pittaway. Even though this set is small with only 18 full sticks, I found the color and value selection to be perfect for creating bright and cheery artwork. Pastel artists ALWAYS want more colors, but for the beginner artist it can be challenging to get started with a limited selection of colors. This lesson should be refreshing to learn that you DON'T have to acquire hundreds of pastel colors to create a successful painting, and often it is better to work from a limited palette. I actually don't even use all 18 pastel colors for this painting. I probably only used 15 colors.
