As Christmas draws near, we enter the fourth week of Advent and focus on love—the heartbeat of the Gospel and the reason Christ came. In 1 John 4:9, we’re told, “This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.” God didn’t just speak love—He gave it. He wrapped Himself in flesh and entered our brokenness, not because we deserved it, but because His nature is love. Real love moves. Real love sacrifices. Real love shows up. The birth of Jesus is the proof that love doesn’t stay distant—it draws near. Mary and Joseph weren’t in a palace, they were in a stable. But love was there. The shepherds weren’t priests, but they were invited. Love doesn’t wait for perfection—it breaks into ordinary lives and changes them forever. In a world desperate for real love, we are called to be its carriers. Not just in word, but in deed. Not just to those who love us, but to those who need it most. Love is not a feeling—it’s a choice to reflect Christ in how we live, speak, and serve. Words of Wisdom Love is not proven in comfort—it’s revealed in sacrifice. If it costs nothing, it’s not the kind of love that changes anything. Call to Action This week, find one way to love someone who doesn’t expect it. Give, serve, or forgive without seeking anything in return. Let the love of Christ move through you so that someone else feels seen and valued. Closing Prayer Lord, thank You for loving us first. Help us reflect that love with open hands and humble hearts. Teach us to love like You—with truth, with grace, and with joy. Let others see Your light through our lives. Amen.
