National Day of Awareness for MMIWG: Seeking Justice for Our Sisters

This event was held on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at 5 pm PDT. The UC Santa Cruz American Indian Resource Center team and guests presented an introduction and quick history of the MMIWG epidemic which includes discussion about issues of jurisdiction, legislation, statistics, advocates and organizations. We also discussed how 2 Spirit people are being left out of the discussion and the art that is being made in honor of our #MMIWGT2S. #JusticeForOurSisters #MMIWGT2S #NeverForget
