Peak Rail - Steam Gala (Aug. 24)

A lovely day spent at Peak Rail for the steam gala. Although a shortish line, this lovely railway runs from Matlock, where there is a connection with the national network through EMR, via Matlock Riverside and Darley Dale, terminating at Rowsley South. In action was the star of the show, 45596 ‘Bahamas’, alongside ‘Jennifer’, ‘Waleswood’, and ‘Kent Electric Power Co Ltd No2’. Two sets of carriages mixed in with a freight were running, as well as having run-round engines and driver for a fiver experiences. A lovely little railway and another one ticked off the list!
