With that, nothing stood in the way of the 20th game in the SpongeBob SquarePants series: "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake" was born and was scheduled for release on January 31, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. At a fair in Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob and Patrick encounter the mysterious Cassandra and her wish-granting mermaid tears in the form of soap bubbles. While playing and blowing bubbles, the two only wanted to wish their friends well, but what happened threw the entire universe out of balance and opened portals to wild wish-worlds—a kind of parallel universe—into which their friends, like Sandy, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward, were pulled. Patrick was also transformed into a balloon. Equipped with the right cosmic costume from Cassandra, the two set out to rescue their friends from the Wild West, Pirate Goo Lagoon, and more. They experience the wildest adventures and get to know their friends and enemies in a whole new way. Old and new abilities like the fishing hook swing and the karate kick are included, making it even easier to progress through the 7 Wish Worlds, discover secrets, and collect the numerous gold doubloons and other collectibles. Over 30 F.U.N.tastic costumes, including SnailBob and SpongeGa, guarantee variety and plenty of laughs. Speaking of laughs: As is typical in the series, SpongeBob and Patrick goof around a lot in this game, and are even voiced by their original actors!
