This paved the way for the 20th game in the SpongeBob SquarePants series: "SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake" was born and scheduled for release on January 31, 2023, for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. At a carnival in Bikini Bottom, SpongeBob and Patrick encounter the mysterious Cassandra and her wish-granting mermaid tears in the form of soap bubbles. While playing and blowing soap bubbles, the two actually just wanted to wish their friends well, but what happened upset the entire fabric of the universe and opened portals to wild wish worlds, a kind of parallel universe into which their friends like Sandy, Mr. Krabs, and Squidward were drawn. Patrick was also transformed into a balloon. With the right cosmic costume from Cassandra, the two set out to bring back their friends from the Wild West, the Pirate Goo Lagoon, and more. Along the way, they experience the wildest adventures and get to know their friends and enemies in a whole new way. Old and new skills, like the fishhook swing and the karate kick, are included, making it even easier to progress through the 7 dream worlds, discover secrets, and reach the numerous gold doubloons and other collectibles. Over 30 F.U.N.tastic costumes, including SnailBob and SpongeGa, provide variety and a few laughs. Speaking of laughs: As is typical in the series, SpongeBob and Patrick fool around a lot in this game, and they're even voiced by their original voice actors!
