The midsole is comprised of the Hoka RMAT and EVA materials allowing for a cushioned yet responsive ride. While I consider myself a more neutral runner, I wanted to review the shoe and test out some of its specific features. The wide toe-box is awesome. Most Hokas that I've reviewed up to this point lack major real estate up in the forefoot, but the Constant has a nice roomy, wide front toe-box and it's awesome. In addition, the burrito upper surprised me. I often don't like this feature as it crowds my foot and makes for too tight or cumbersome of a shoe. But the Hoka Constant utilizes it well and comfortably. Finally, the stable platform is a welcome and confidence building addition. However, with the weight, the looks and the thicker upper, this shoe isn't going to be my go-to Hoka. I just wish the features made it to other Hokas so I could continue to enjoy them!
