I had heard good things from the follow up so I was anxious to get my feet into these gems. Well, there are some changes to the shoes that I think contribute to them being a bit of a side-step from the previous version. On the plus side, a lot of the "likes" from the first version remain. They're super cushioned, comfy fast road runners for the long days. I really like the addition of the padded tongue and durability overlays on the upper. However, the additional weight (over an ounce per shoe!) and added rigidity in the upper/front toe-box lead to some initial issues (ie blisters, width issues, etc). Overall, the shoe is still good, still fun, but not quite as successful as the previous version. While I still use them now for long runs from time to time, I'm holding on to my first pair as a solid back-up/alternate version for days I just want to forget about the shoes I'm wearing and escape into cushioned comfort! What do YOU think of the Clifton 2? Let me know in the comments below!
