Dark Souls 3 DLC (PS4) Gamechive (The Ringed City, Pt 6/7: Slave Knight Gael Boss - Solo) [NG]

"The Ringed City (Part 6 of 7): Slave Knight Gael Boss [Journey 1: NG]"—Arriving at Filianore's Rest finds Princess Filianore slumbering. Upon touching the embraced shell, she dies, and in a flash of light the entire environment turns to a dusty ruin. NPC Shira, Knight of Filianore* warned the player not to awaken the princess, and going back to visit her location finds that she has vanished. Back in the rest's ruins, an NPC Pygmy is seen crawling toward the shrine, mumbling about a red hood eating the dark soul, and dies before reaching it. Farther down the sand dunes, it's NPC Slave Knight Gael (from Ashes of Ariandel) eating a Pygmy, and apparently seeking the Dark Soul. Time for the Ringed City's final boss fight! In phase one, Slave Knight Gael becomes very aggressive, feral, erratic, jumping around, and smashing about with his decayed Executioner Sword. In phase two, he utilizes a rapid-firing crossbow, the Way of White Corona miracle, and becomes overcome with dark energy. As the dark takes over, he grows aggressive, closes distance quickly, and even his cape comes alive as a weapon. Lightning also appears in the sky, attracted to the energy, and reigns down around the player causing damage. As mistakes are costly, timing is crucial to victory in all phases of this battle. Slave Knight Gael is weak to poison, frost, and bleed-based attacks. This gamechive contains one solo battle* as a pyromancer build. The Soul of Slave Knight Gael and Blood of the Dark Soul (pigment to depict a painted world) is received for defeating this boss. This soul can be transposed (Transposing Kiln required) with NPC Ludleth of Courland (seated on a throne in Firelink Shrine) or via his ashes ("examine") to obtain Gael's Greatsword (weapon) for $20,000 souls or the Repeating Crossbow (weapon) for $5,000 souls. Remember Gael's Niece (painting girl) back in Ariandel Chapel? That's who the Blood of the Dark Soul should be given to, so she can paint a new "cold, dark" world. "Soul of Slave Knight Gael. One of the twisted souls, steeped in strength. Use to acquire many souls, or transpose to extract its true strength. The red-hooded, wandering slave knight Gael sought the blood of the dark soul as pigment for the Painted World. But Gael knew he was no Champion, that the dark soul would likely ruin him, and that he had little hope of a safe return." "Blood of the dark soul that seeped from the hole within Slave Knight Gael. Used as a pigment by his lady in Ariandel to depict a painted world. When Gael came upon the pygmy lords, he discovered that their blood had long ago dried, and so consumed the dark soul." Bonfire Discovered: Slave Knight Gael Soul Transposition: Gael's Greatsword (weapon) "Greatsword of Slave Knight Gael, the only weapon that he kept with him from beginning to end. Originally an executioner's sword made for decapitation, this blade is heavily chipped and stained with the blood of countless battles. Skill: Blade of Peril. A precarious technque to undead Gael. Leap in any direction, slamming the greatsword to the ground, then follow with normal attack for a large spinning slash, or strong attack to back-step and jump forward in an overhead slam." Repeating Crossbow (weapon) "This crossbow, customized for repeat-firing to face mobs alone, was wielded by Slave Knight Gael. Used in the battles of an endless journey, this crossbow is covered with twists and dinks, rusted with blood, and made extremely brittle from overuse. Skill: Repeat Fire. Assume stance to activate repeat firing mechanism, and repeat fire with normal and strong attacks."
