Medicaid changes: New study shows importance of keeping coverage

As states start the process of asking people with Medicaid coverage to verify that they still qualify after a pause on that process during the pandemic, a new study shows the importance of keeping some form of health insurance. Renuka Tipirneni, M.D., M.S., a physician at Michigan Medicine's Division of General Medicine and researcher at the U-M Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation, describes the key findings of the study and the implications for people currently covered by Medicaid or CHIP in 2023.
