Wisconsin Knowledge Boost: How Are Wisconsinites Impacted by Recent Updates to Food Assistance Programs? Changes to eligibility and federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), called FoodShare in Wisconsin, are starting to be implemented now. These changes were made through legislation in the 2025 Senate Reconciliation Bill (also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill) which passed last year. This will have implications for program participants, local economies, the emergency food system, and may have other impacts as well. This video provides an overview of the changes to Wisconsin’s FoodShare program, and their potential reach and impacts. The goal is to help Wisconsin residents and community professionals to understand these changes and anticipate their next steps if they are impacted.
