2025 Volkswagen T-Cross gets 3 Stars in Euroncap !

The 2025 Volkswagen T Cross obtained a modest 3 star rating in the latest Euroncap safety tests. The small SUV scored 74% in the Adult Occupant crash tests. The passenger compartment of the Volkswagen T-Cross remained stable in the frontal offset test. Protection of the driver’s chest was rated as weak, based on dummy readings of compression, but readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of both the driver and the front seat passenger. Analysis of the deceleration of the impact trolley during the test, and analysis of the deformable barrier after the test, revealed that the Volkswagen T-Cross would deliver an aggressive impact in a frontal collision. In the full-width rigid barrier test, protection was good for all critical body regions of the driver but was marginal for the chest of the rear passenger. In both the side barrier test and the more severe side pole impact, good protection was provided to all critical body areas and the Volkswagen T-Cross scored maximum points in this part of the assessment. Volkswagen T-Cross does not have a countermeasure to mitigate against occupant-to-occupant injuries in side impacts. Tests on the front seats and head restraints demonstrated good protection against whiplash injuries in the event of a rear-end collision. T-Cross scored 81% in the Child Occupant crash tests. In the frontal offset test, tensile forces in the neck of the 10 year dummy indicated marginal protection. In the side barrier test, protection of the head of the 10 year dummy was also rated as marginal, based on dummy readings of accelerations. On the Vulnerable Road Users tests, Volkswagen T-Cross scored a modest 70%. Protection of the head of a struck pedestrian or cyclist was largely good or adequate, while protection of the pelvis was mixed. Protection of the femur and that of the knee and tibia was good at all test locations. The autonomous emergency braking system of the Volkswagen T-Cross responds to vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists, as well as to other vehicles. In tests of its response to pedestrians, the system performed only marginally, and offers no protection to those moving near the rear of the car. The system also provided marginal performance in tests of its reaction to cyclists, with no protection against ‘dooring’, in which a door is opened into the path of a cyclist approaching from behind. The system’s response to motorcyclists was weak. T-Cross scored 57% in safety assist tests. Overall, the performance of the autonomous emergency braking system was marginal in tests of its reaction to other vehicles. The lane support system gently corrects the vehicle’s path if it is drifting out of lane and also intervenes in some more critical situations. #volkswagen #tcross #recanything #euroncap #voa #recda
