Razor: Gillette - NEW Raised Flat Bottom UK Tech Handle Blade: Personna - Platinum Chrome (5) Lather: Stirling Mutton Tallow - Glastonbury Brush: Stirling - Boar 24mm Factory Seconds (18 uses) Post: Proraso Red After Shave Lotion/Splash *General Notes / TL;DR*: Trying a new-to-me Gillette NEW RFB which I thoroughly enjoyed. And another scent of the mutton tallow base from Stirling. Razor and Blade Notes - Gillette - NEW Raised Flat Bottom UK Tech Handle ::: Personna - Platinum (5 uses): Very good shave. Pretty good blade/razor combo. It just felt very good. A little bit of blade feel, but very controlled and consistent. Almost smooth. Not as great a close cut in my neck's hollows, but I didn't mind. No tugging or irritation. Soap Notes - Stirling Mutton Tallow - Glastonbury: Them: "Patchouli, Lavender, Oakmoss, Lichen, Frankincense, and Vetiver" Scent: I do get the patchouli at first, and maybe something else, like the Lav and maybe Frankincense or so. But at the end of the shave, the Patchouli layer had gone, leaving me with a different scent than I started with. Very cool, and I liked both. This is a nice merging of scents, where one doesn't boss the others around. It's also not overly patchouli, so someone who likes the other elements has a good chance of liking this scent, even if patchouli is not their thing. A very well-designed accord, IMO. This may not be a scent pattern that I am instantly drawn to, but I think it's feasible that I could all the sudden crave this one at some point down the road. Scent Strength: 5/10, nicely present during shaving. Lather: "Leaves your face nourished and smooth" is right! That exactly how it felt between passes and after! I was shocked. This guy has been around for so long and delivering the post-shave performance that these top-tier guys have finally achieved. Pretty much the perfect lather today. So elastic. Slickness was tops, and man it felt good. Between passes my face felt amazing... silky smooth. Wow. 1/4+ tsp soap lightly-wet, dense, strong backbone boar brush 3.5 tsp water to build the lather = 6 passes of lather.Bowl - I used the XL version of this 3D-printable bowl: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:339... Brush Notes - Stirling - Boar 24mm Factory Seconds (18 uses): Not bad today. Not really soft, but not scritchy. A slow changer, this one. *Shave Quality* During the Shave Feel: Cheeks: Felt blade but comfortable Neck: Felt blade but comfortable After the Shave Closeness: Cheeks: Near BBS - About as close as I'll ever get Neck: Few hairs are showing some tip length (with most being cut flush)
