Just A Shave: Karve Chris Bradley - Gillette Platinum (13) - Stirling R4L - WD Silvertip 22 Tall

Razor: Karve - Christopher Bradley Blade: Gillette - Platinum (13) Lather: Stirling - Responders 4 Life (Gray Vetiver) Brush: Whipped Dog - Silvertip 22mm Tall Handle (9 uses) Post: Stirling - Responders 4 Life *General Notes / TL;DR*: Today is a shave to remember the tragedies and inspirations of 9/11. (due to my shaving schedule, I'm a little late) I remember how our collective hearts sunk when the first tower fell. Before that, we thought that most of the folks inside would be able to make their way down. But really, where I was, we didn't do much thinking. We were just in shock. I'm sorry for the families of the 3,120 who died that day. And I'm sorry for the hate that caused it. But like one of the victim's parents said, after she mourned for her son, she said instead of getting bitter and dwelling on the loss of time with her boy, that she would instead always remember and cherish the time that she did have, and the blessing that he was for as long as he was here. So gracious. And I loved how the nation came together in unity, and there was giving, and helping, and healing. I still remember. ---- I chose a soap that felt suitable, and I do love this scent. Also returned to one of my favorite brushes. And I show off my new polish job on my Chris Bradley. Razor and Blade Notes - Karve - Christopher Bradley ::: Gillette - Platinum (13 uses): Oh I love this head. No irritation and great, close cut. Nice feel while shaving, too. Soap Notes - Stirling - Responders 4 Life (Gray Vetiver): Scent: classy and understated. Strong in character, but mild in presence. Interesting and yet classic and professional. Doesn't put on airs. I can see how this was chosen to represent first responders as they do their jobs with the same admirable character traits. Patterned after Tom Ford's Gray Vetiver. Scent strength was 5/10, nicely available during the shave. Lather: Tremendous lather today. Excellent performance, protection, and glide. 30 second load with a lightly-wet, soft slivertip badger brush 2.5 tsp water to build the lather = 7 passes of lather Bowl - I used the XL version of this bowl: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:339... Brush Notes - Whipped Dog - Silvertip 22mm Tall Handle (9 uses): Well, I think this knot has a little more backbone than the Golden Nib Premium Silvertip I also like. And it puts it squarely ahead of the Nib. This is the way I like brushes to feel. NOt nearlyu as much drag as the STirling finest, as I suspected. Too many firm bristles I guess. *Shave Quality* During the Shave Feel: Cheeks: Felt blade but comfortable Neck: Felt blade but comfortable After the Shave Closeness: Cheeks: Near BBS - About as close as I'll ever get Neck: Cut flush to where I just see the tips (above average for me)
