Jannatul Baqi; Warped Wahhabi Ideologies - Maulana Syed Muhammad Rizvi

Remembrance of the tragedy in which the shrines of the Ahlul Bayt in Medina were demolished by the Wahhabis. This sad event took place on the 8th Shawwal 1343 (corresponding to 2nd May 1925) = 96 years ago (AH), 93 years ago (AD). Wahhabis refuse to distinguish the act of worship from the act of respecting someone or something. They consider the visitation to the graves of the prophets and Imams as idol-worshipping; and they consider their shrines as symbols of idolatry – and so they believe that it is their duty to destroy it whenever and wherever they get the chance to do so. Refuting their false beliefs using the Qur'an and traditions of the Prophet Bibi Fatima's funeral took place in the darkness of the night. Ali also created a few imitation graves in anticipation of the enemies wanting to dig out her coffin and rebury her publicly. That Ali, who practiced patience in every situation: When the door fell on Fatima, he was patient. When Mohsin was martyed, he was patient. When a rope was tied around his neck, he was patient. When Fadak was stolen, he was patient. But when they spoke of digging out the coffin of Bibi Fatima, he unsheathed his sword, stating 'No one will dare take a step towards these graves, otherwise I will wage war, and rivers of blood will flow.'
