Thoracic Spine Extension with OH Y's on Foam Roller

Thoracic Spine Extension with OH Y's on Foam Roller

A foam roller can be used to help improve thoracic spine extension out of a child's pose. 1. Set up in a child's pose position with the hands on the foam roller and thumbs facing up towards the ceiling 2. Roll the arms forward and allow your head to fall between your arms 3. Hold for 5-10 seconds, relax, then return to the stretch 4. Maintain a neutral lower back in order to prevent from arching from the lumbar spine 5. You can add Y liftoffs to help improve scapular stability; start your pull from the shoulder blade to bring the arm just off of the foam roller! Be aware that this is may not be an appropriate exercise for shoulders with chronic instability or shoulder pain. Please see a physio before attempting this. Get it? Good. Not sure? PM/Email us.
