KABUL — The Taliban have claimed responsibility for an attack on the Afghan parliament in Kabul on Monday that caused chaos among politicians inside and sent a plume of smoke across the city. According to Reuters, a suicide bomber blew himself up in a car, and four other bombs were detonated near the parliament, ITV reports. According to the Guardian, six Taliban militants then entered a building close to the parliament, took up positions and started firing. Afghan security forces engaged the Taliban fighters in a two-hour battle, eventually killing all six. Unconfirmed reports from Afghanistan-based Tolonews suggest that five people have died, while 31 have been injured. Violence has dramatically increased in Afghanistan following the departure of most foreign forces at the end of last year. ----------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets.
