MONDAY 19TH DECEMBER 2022 - CRIME WATCH LIVE TODAY'S HIGHLIGHTS: With just 12 days before the year comes to an end, the country is rapidly approaching the 600-murder figure with 7 additional weekend murders, which pushed the number of murders recorded for the month thus far to 30 Over the weekend, a total of seven (7) murders were recorded, with 6 in Trinidad and 1 in Tobago. Four male suspects are in custody in connection with keeping 2 minors against their will and demanding monies from their relatives in exchange for their safe release. • Three of the suspects were held at a house along Lovell Street, Monte Grande, Tunapuna, which was raided by officers of the northern division task force and the anti-kidnapping unit. The nephew of acting commissioner Mc Donald Jacob and another man have been charged with the murder of an ex-police man. • 35-year-old Marcus Jacob of Marcano Street, St. Croix Princes Town, and 28-year-old Daniel Harroo of Soogrim Street, Orange Valley, Couva, were charged with murdering Sayed Mohammed. • Jacob, the nephew of Mc Donald Jacob, was also jointly charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition by PC Ramoutar of the region 3 homicide bureau of investigations who also charged them with the capital offence. • Mohammed, a businessman, was shot dead outside his Katwaroo Trace Penal home around 9am on Monday 12th December, 2022, by two men who fled inside a motor car. A woman was murdered at her Kelly Village, Caroni home on Sunday, by her boyfriend who remains on the run from police. • Patrick King Budd, is wanted for the murder of Reena Ragoonath-Charles. • Reena, a janitor with the airport’s authority, was strangled to death by Patrick at their who went on the run from police. • Reportedly, Patrick murdered Reena just hours after they attended the funeral service of murdered hardware owner 52-year-old Chandan RamjIt who was killed during a robbery at Three B's Drive, Caroni North Bank Road on Monday 12th December, 2022. • Ramjit's funeral took place at his Hydraulic Trace Caroni home on Sunday, a stone’s throw away from where Reena lived. On Sunday 18th December, 2022: • 43-year-old Reena Ragoonath-Charles, a janitor with the Airports Authority was found murdered at the Ragoonanan Trace, Caroni South Bank Road, Kelly village home of her ex-common law husband. • Shortly before 7:00pm, she was discovered by her husband, • Reportedly, around 7:00pm, Simon Luke Charles, her husband said he returned home and discovered the house completed locked up. • He was able to alert his aunt, who is deaf and mute, to open the door. • Upon making checks, he discovered Reena lying semi-nude in her bedroom with blood oozing from her mouth and immediately contacted the EHS and officers at the Caroni police station. • The DMO was summoned to the scene and upon examining the victim it was discovered that her body bore several marks of violence. • She was found lying on her back with injuries to the neck and an autopsy was ordered at the forensic sciences center in St. James.
