GENESEE COUNTY/Stafford Two vehicle accident sends seven people to Strong Hospital Two vehicles at the intersection of Transit and Sweetland roads collided in a T-bone accident sending one vehicle into a ditch rolled over onto its roof. A a mini-van headed west on Sweetland road failed to yield the right of way to a north bound GMC Suburban on transit road in the Town of Stafford last evening about 9:00p.m. The intersection is a two way stop with only Sweetland road traffic having to stop. According to Sgt. Ronald Meides with the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, the driver of the mini-van may have thought the intersection was a four way stop. Six people in the mini-van, including three children, were sent to Strong hospital with injuries. One child was transported by Mercy Flight with shoulder and arm injuries. One of the three people in the GMC Suburban was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong hospital with serious head injuries. The front passenger in the Suburban was not wearing a seatbelt and struck the windshield. The investigation is continuing and charges are pending. UPDATE: The driver of the GMC Suburban is Jared Flaming, 27, of Genesee St. Corfu. He has been charged with felony DWI and felony driving with a BAC of .08% or more. He was arraigned in Stafford Town Court and released on his own recognizance. The front seat passenger in the GMC Suburban, who was transported by Mercy Flight with a head injury after striking her head on the windshield, is Ashley Cornett, 27, of Corfu. A rear seat passenger in the GMC, who was not injured, is Katlyn Hahn, 26, of Alden. All six occupants of the Chrysler mini van were transported to Strong Hospital. The front seat passenger in the van, Markeda Starks, 23, of Rochester was transported by Mercy Flight. The rear seat passengers, Katrina Drake, 24, of Rochester and Nakai Williams, 6, Jah-Mel Roman, 3, and Antonio Roman, age 5, all of Batavia, along with the driver Latoya Stanley, 26, of Ellicott St, Batavia, were transported by ground ambulance.
