ALEXANDER Two vehicle accident sends three people and one dog to area hospitals A pick-up truck lost control and slid into the path of an oncoming car on Rt. 98 late this afternoon. A 77 year old female passenger in the car was seriously injured and was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong. According to fire officials on scene, she suffered from head and neck injuries and was in and out of consciousness. The driver of the car was also transported to Strong. Not sure of the extent of her injuries. The young female driver of the pick-up truck was transported to UMMC. Her dog, a yellow lab in the passenger seat, was transported to the Batavia Animal Hospital. Injuries to the dog were unknown. This was the second accident in a two hour time period in this area of Rt. 98 between Peaviner and Dodson Roads. Blowing and drifting snow in the roadway made the road surface a sheet of ice, fire officials on scene say people should slow down for conditions in this area of Rt. 98.
