Death Valley 4wheeling & Camping Adventure - December 2020 (Part 1)

On Day 1 of our Death Valley trip: *We leave the town of Ridgecrest and head East on Hwy 178. *Hwy 178 turns North and changes names to Trona Road *We connect with Ballarat Road and turn right heading East. *We visit Ballarat hoping we can buy some moonshine from the old caretaker named Rock, but found out Rock no longer lives there and moved to the town of Trona. *We leave Ballarat and head South on Wingate Road towards Goler Canyon. *We connect with Goler Wash Road, turn left and head East into Goler Canyon *We stop at the Lotus Mine and take a lunch break at Barker Ranch which is the site they captured Charles Manson and other members of the Manson Family. *We leave Barker Ranch and head back out to the main route, turn right and head North, The road is now called Coyote Canyon Road. *We stop for a break at Mengel Pass to take in the view. *We get back in our rigs and continue driving North. *We reach an area where there's 3 cabins to choose from for our 1st camp. We chose Russell Camp because it has the best views and is more protected from the wind.
