Death Valley 4wheeling & Camping Adventure - December 2020 (Part 5)

On the 5th and final day of our trip: *We leave our camp off Steel Pass Road and head back down to the Saline Valley Warm Springs. *We connect with Saline Valley Road, turn right and head North. *Saline Valley Road is fairly flat for a while but starts climbing and gets up to around 7000 feet. As you gain elevation, you will notice the landscape slowly change and you'll start seeing trees. So, it turns from a desert landscape to more of a forest landscape as you get higher. If it has been cold enough and there have been recent rains, you will encounter snow. Depending on the year, this might make the trail impassible so do your research and plan accordingly. If you get up to a point where the snow is making it impassible and you have to turn around and head South down Saline Valley Road, you might not have enough fuel to make it back to civilization. *Saline Valley Road crests at around 7000 feet, goes downhill for a while and then starts climbing again. The road tops out at 7500 feet. *We connect up with Death Valley Big Pine Road, turn left heading West and travel downhill into the town of Big Pine which is right off of Hwy 395. *We conclude the trip in Big Pine eating some pizza, drinking some beers and saying our goodbyes. *It was an Incredible Trip and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us for the ride.
