Top nuclear envoys of S. Korea, U.S., Japan vow to counter N. Korea's threats

한미일 북핵수석대표, 서울서 3자 협의 국제사회에 "북한 해외 노동자 송환해야" Top nuclear envoys of South Korea, the U.S., and Japan met in Seoul on Friday and reiterated their commitment to countering threats posed by North Korea to regional and global security. In a joint statement, Seoul's Kim Gunn, Washington's Sung Kim, and Tokyo's Takehiro Funakoshi, strongly condemned North Korea's repeated ballistic missile launches, calling its weapons development program a clear violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions. They also urged UN Member States to repatriate all paid North Korean laborers to their home country, and ensure that no work authorizations are renewed or granted for North Korean laborers. The envoys also expressed serious concerns about the North's human rights violations, including the abductions of citizens from South Korea and Japan.
